We process personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on the protection of personal data and the guarantee of digital rights (LOPDGDD).
2. What data we process
- Contact form: full name, organisation, email, phone (optional), what you are interested in and the message you write.
- Browsing: the technical data that any web server records (IP address, browser, pages visited and time), only for the security and proper functioning of the website.
- Statistics: to know how many visits each page receives we use a statistics tool installed on our own server, which uses no cookies, does not store your full IP address and cannot identify you.
Routes and GPS files can be viewed and downloaded without providing any personal data.
3. Why we use it and on what legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and, if you ask us to, prepare a proposal: the basis is your consent and, where you request a quote, taking steps prior to entering into a contract.
- To keep the website secure: the basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the service.
We do not create profiles or make automated decisions with legal effects on you. We do not send marketing communications without your prior consent.
4. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a business relationship: up to one year from the last contact.
- Client data: for as long as the relationship lasts and, afterwards, for the legally required periods.
- Server technical logs: a maximum of 90 days.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties, except where required by law. To provide the service we use processors that handle data on our behalf, under contract and with GDPR safeguards:
- Hosting of the website and of the system that receives the form: OVHcloud servers in the European Union.
- Email: Google (Gmail), which delivers each form request to us, and our email provider. Google may process data outside the European Union with the safeguards provided for by the GDPR.
- Route maps: when you open a route page, your browser requests the map from OpenTopoMap’s servers, which receive its IP address.
6. Your rights
You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability at any time, and withdraw any consent you have given, without affecting processing carried out beforehand. Write to us at info@thetrailzone.com stating which right you wish to exercise. If we cannot identify you with the data we already hold, we will ask you for a supporting document.
If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
7. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures to protect data: encrypted connection (HTTPS) across the whole website, restricted access to systems and backups.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal changes or changes to our services. The date of the last update appears at the top.
