Are you a lover of “wild” routes? If so, this is your route. In it you will be able to carry out a short, explosive and technical training, which will undoubtedly test your skills as a mountain runner.

We will leave the Parc de la Salut heading west to turn 150 m later heading north. We will continue to the right until we reach the road, which we will cross very carefully to continue along the asphalt following the indications of the GR-2 (white and red paint). After a few meters we will take a path that, in constant turns, and short ascents and descents, always without hardly gaining altitude and flanking the sunny side of the Santa Magdalena mountain, will take us to the base of the most direct ascent to the Hermitage of Santa Magdalena, km 2.2. It will be a hard and demanding climb, but fun for those who love challenges. We will find sections of bare rock and sections of decomposed rock, the path to follow is a bit imprecise but we will not get lost if we faithfully follow the GPS or if we simply go straight up looking for the most logical path. Turning from time to time and looking at Terrades will make us realize how quickly we gain altitude. The reward for the effort will be the fabulous views that, to the north, south, east and west, will give us this magical location of the Hermitage of Santa Madalena, km 3. From here we can see almost all the peaks of the Alt Empordà and also the, perhaps once snowy, Canigó massif. We will leave the Hermitage behind to continue east, along a beautiful and rocky descent for 1.25 km, with excellent views over Terrades, until we reach the road, km 4.26, which we will cross with great care. From here on, all that remains is to undo the first km of the route.
